(Picture Here) Growing up, I did not put much stock into going to college. I remember taking all of those standardized tests and asking myself if I was college material? Other people said that I was, but I didn’t think so. I thought if I just stayed out of trouble and got decent grades that would be good enough. And besides, who could afford to send me to school anyway?
Fortunately, I had always told myself that regardless of any outcome, if I stayed true to myself and always tried to do my best, good things would happen. It wasn’t until I started to apply those principals that I started to make better choices, received better grades, and eventually realized my potential as a college student.
Now that I am able to look back on my educational journey, I realize that it wasn’t just about following my own advice. It was also about realizing that people who saw my potential before I did, actually knew what they were talking about.
